What do you do?

So the other day Charles and I traded cars and he ended up with a mini van full of kids and stuff and I ran errands in his car without any kiddos. Well....when I came home I realized that he had cleaned out my car. I don't know about any of you but my car is my 2ND office. I keep snacks for the kids, changes of clothes, stuff to return the store, dance costumes, extra shoes, etc. To my utter horror I did not have any idea how bad it was until he had the kids bring everything in and set it on the kitchen table. You could play I spy just with this picture. Can you spy Brigham's grey beanie, Buzz Light Year, ballet shoes, or a hanger? How do you guys keep your cars clean for more than 1 day? I can not believe how fast mine becomes a graveyard for dirty socks, spelling homework, math homework, mail, etc. What is the secret - please share!!!

The other day Aaron went to the snow with the youth and he emptied his car into my front room. There was all kinds of things in there.

My goal when we got the minivan was to keep it clean. I have done a pretty good job of it. I try to clean it out every time I get out. I take all the mail, toys, ect. in with me every time I get out of the car.

You live in your car a lot more than the rest of us.... so I think it's ok for you to have that much stuff in your van! Maybe just try to get into a habit of going through things once a week, always taking out trash. Go out to the van with a few trash bags and just get down to it!
My car is not the cleanest, but every so often I do go out there and take out the trash and random things that end up there. I'm sure someone out there has a better solution for ya! Good luck.

I did what Jeri did too but then as more kids come it gets harder. Now my only excuse to rummage thru things is when I drive carpool on Wednesday. Tueday is mutal and occasionaly I have kids in my car so I have made it a goal to clean the car every Tues so it's clean for the upcoming visitors. That is just it-it gets so busy that I am pleasing others and not me. I have to get back into the good habit of cleaning out every time I get out. It really is a great feeling getting into the clean car
I also gave everyone a small plastic baggie to collect everything by their seat. It's amazing how much each one had in the car...
Good luck!
