I am taking a cue from my dear friend Rachelle and listing some of my favorite things.
1. The first are my new Nike AirZoom Vomero 2 running shoes. They are called running shoes because that is what you can do in them. I however am mostly walking with spurts of jogging - 1 minute intervals right now . I am working up to being able to run a 5K in the spring. That may not seem a lofty goal for some BUT for me. It is huge and I am taking it slow and in little chunks. I figure that if I train out here in the VERY rolling hills of Penryn the flat American River Bike Trail will be a breeze. After I accomplish that goal who knows I may actually find that I enjoy running and miss it on the days that I can't go. I am not there yet however I do enjoy how I feel after. These shoes are amazing. I went to Fleet Feet in Roseville and was fitted for this shoe. What a difference it makes. I feel like a little kids on the first day of school when you have new shoes on and you are sure that you can run faster because of it.
2. Love the Google pedometer maps. I can track my course before hand and see elevation changes, etc. It has been so helpful and it is free. I guess that one of those cool watches would do the same thing too but right now my free option is working great. I do not want to know that I am only averaging 15 miles and hour right now (that is what the watch would tell me too) but to my defense there are SERIOUS hills out here. * I was wrong with my mileage lingo - the correct term would be a 15 minute mile - Whoa - NOT 15 MILES PER HOUR! *
3. Lastly - Cinnamon Life cereal with frozen raspberries on top. SUPER YUMMY! and I am not a cereal girl but I am getting better at at least having breakfast in the morning.

These aren't things I have discovered LATELY, they are just things I appreciate and love and use everyday:

My treadmill, I get to keep up on my running all winter long without missing a beat!
My 4X4 Suburban, it allows me to drive over any amount of snow on the roads.
My internet, I am on this dang computer wayyyyy too much and I love it.
The library, where I get a huge bag full of books each and every week, we are all book worms here and love a good book.

Go Danee! You can do it! You have plenty of time and you are already running a 15 minute mile!! Wow! That is the pace that was required for my race in Disney World. I was unable to make that pace, but able to finish the race. I only trained for 6 weeks before the race. Now, afterwards, I am seeing major advances in my abilities. Just be consistent! Seriously!

My favorite thing of the day: I discovered a new recipe! The best refried beans I've ever had, and I made them from scratch! Yum. We had tastey chicken enchilada's too...let's just say Josh was quite happy tonight (: I'll send you the recipe if you'd like!

Ok so I haven't checked you blog in a while and I have always thought you were amazing, but now there are no words to describe my amazement. I could not run to save my life and the fact that you are going to run a race...well you're my hero! And the shoes look killer.
