Our "Grinch" party

I was asked to help a friend out with the decorations for our Ward Christmas Party. They were having a talent show and that was about all the had been planned. Amber and I came up with a homemade looking "Grinch-style" theme. We got this funky garland at Sam's Club that was live and only $8.00 for 40 feet. We did everything in lime green and red. Not your traditional Christmas colors but really fun. We (Amber) made these awesome 3 -D stars that were lime green and red and then red on red. I need her to show me how to do them. She also made starched yarn- over- balloon ornaments. Everyone seemed to love it and the best part was that it was simple enough that neither one of us had to stress and was really inexpensive. We did one long dessert table like what they sat at to eat "Roast Beast". It was a fun idea that I will probably do again.

Here are the homemade Christmas trees that I made for the table.

Amber made these funky stockings out of fleece that we used a clothespin to attach to the garland. (I had nothing to do with the fleece - You know I can not touch that stuff with a 10 foot pole - it makes my teeth hurt. )

Emmelyne and Brooklyn dressed up like angels and sang a song from their show - Heavenly Choirs. It was a lot of fun.

A very "Grinchy" Christmas

You can not really tell how cool these stars are. She made them all by hand.

I had made about 60 cupcakes with lime green and red (really it was only dark
pink)frosting but I had a little ant invasion that wiped about 1/3 of them out. Oh well. I also had some store bought gingerbreadmen that I added lime green and pink buttons to. They were Semi - Homemade like Sandra Lee

Falling a little behind

Since I have fallen a little behind during the month of November due to : Brigham's birthday, a family trip to Angel's Camp, Thanksgiving, a surprise birthday party for me, Hudson's birthday, a Christmas dance performance and choir performance.....I hope that you will excuse the lapse in posting. I thought that posting a slide show that would give a recap of the month would be fun. I hope that you enjoy.
