Happy birthday Brook Brook!

I realize that I have not posted in a while. I could not let today go by without wishing Brooklyn a happy 11th Birthday! I can hardly believe that we are 1 year away from having her go into Young Women's, our youth program at church. She has become such a great young lady. She is a hoot to have around and is constantly keeping us on our toes. This was a picture of her as she walked out the door to go to school today. She got to open some of her presents at her birthday breakfast. Mostly clothes. What else do you get for an 11 year old. We are at the age where toys, dolls and games are not on the list anymore. I don't think that they have ever been on her list! She just wanted books. The time has now arrived that music, all things electronic, and clothes seem to be the only thing that makes the cut. She was very excited about her new off white "puffy" vest, her scarf that I made for her ( It is a little Dr. Suess "Grinchy" style since there is not a straight line to be found - it was my first attempt) and her "Aurora" skirt (that is what she calls anything piece of clothing that is a little out there and funky in tribute to a darling , now college student, teenager that I taught at church that loved to wear some pretty funky - but always modest clothes. She will finish her day doing what she loves. Going to dance and then a Del Oro vs. Rocklin basketball game with her dad tonight (and a friend) When she is not dancing or enjoying a good Del Oro sporting event you can find her :
finishing the Lord of the Rings book
Downloading new music to her MP3 player
eating pepperoni pizza
bugging her siblings
and sneaking into the oranges off of our great tree!
We love you Brook Brook and we are so lucky to have you in our family. What do you love about Brooklyn? She would love to have you post a message to her.

Brooklyn, you are awesome! I can't wait to go to the game with you tonight. Congratulations on your birthday. Dad.
What isn't to love about Brooklyn! I can't believe that she is 11! We wish we still lived closer so we could see her more! She is a GREAT example to our kids and TONS of fun to be around. She is always up for learning something new (like making a scarf), and I think she has already read more books then Aaron and I combined! Happy birthday Brooklyn! I hope you had a fabulous day! (Is there going to be a birthday party?)
Happy Birthday, Brooklyn! Danee, I'm glad you invited us to say something about Brooklyn at the end of your post because I was all excited to do it anyway. I absolutely love that girl. It is so enjoyable to chat with her and every time I see her I think how sweet and responsible she is. Truly she is a princess. and, of course, I dream of being able to blow through books like she can.
Hey there sweetie,
I, too, cannot believe you are 11 years old! I LOVE that you love to read. As you know, so do I and I only wish I could read as often as you do. Having that in common with you makes it fun to talk about books we have both read! Love ya!
I love that Brooklyn and my Haley are such great pals. They have grown up together and love spending time together. The best is when they perform together, Haley at the piano and Brooklyn singing. Brooklyn is a great big sister to all of those adorable Davis kids and she loves it when Chloe hands down her old (but still is great shape) shoes! We have some right now for her, I'm sure!!
Happy 11th b-day Brookie!
